Design Studio Guide
Design Studio is a project-based creative workspace for flyers, brochures, books, templates, and brand kits — with AI generation and print-ready exports.
Overview
In Design Studio you can create and manage flyers, brochures, and books; use and save templates; keep a per-project brand kit; watermark your work; and export as PNG, JPG, PDF, or SVG. It is separate from the website editor: choose a project first, then manage that project's designs.
Opening Design Studio
- Choose Design Studio from the main navigation.
- Select a project (create one first if you have none).
- Open Designs, Templates, Marketplace, or Brand kit.
If your plan doesn't include Design Studio, you'll see "Design Studio is not active" with a See plans action.
Creating a flyer, brochure, or book
- Choose New design and enter a title.
- Choose the type: Flyer, Brochure, or Book.
- Choose size (A4, A5, A3, Letter, Instagram, Facebook, or custom) and orientation.
- For brochures, choose the fold layout (bi-fold, tri-fold, Z-fold) and one- or two-side setup.
- Choose Create.
Importing a flyer image to edit it
Design Studio can reverse-engineer an existing flyer or poster image into an editable design — great for reusing past artwork.
- In the Designs home, choose Import from image (or AI remake for an original redesign of the same content).
- Pick a PNG or JPG flyer image.
- The AI reads the image, transcribes the real text, and rebuilds the background and shapes as editable elements.
Photographic areas are not perfectly reproduced — re-add those as images. Importing uses AI credits.
Importing a PDF
Use Import PDF on the Designs screen. Two modes:
- Normal pages — each PDF page becomes an image you can design on top of.
- Editable layers (paid, beta) — reconstructs text and vector shapes as editable elements. Complex PDFs may not reconstruct perfectly; use Normal pages as a fallback.
Templates
The Templates section contains a growing catalog of starter designs. Browse by category, preview, and choose Use template to open an editable copy. You can also save your own designs as private templates and reuse them anytime.
Editing a design
The editor includes the canvas, a toolbar, a Pages panel, a Layers panel, and an Inspector. You can add:
- Text — with rich formatting: mixed styles in one box, highlights, bullet/numbered lists, and auto-fit.
- Images — from project assets, uploads, or free stock photo search.
- Photo frames — masks, collages, and layouts holding one or more images.
- Shapes — rectangles, ellipses, lines, triangles, stars, arrows, speech bubbles, and more, with solid, gradient, or pattern fills.
- Icons and stickers from a large open catalog.
- QR codes — link to your store, WhatsApp, or phone number.
- Tables and simple charts (bar, pie, line).
Image tools include filters and effects, crop, in-frame pan/zoom, and one-tap AI background removal.
Pages and brochure guides
Designs support multiple pages: add, switch, reorder, and set page background; use page setup to change size, unit, and orientation. Brochures show fold guides and safe margins in the editor — guides never appear in exports. Books add automatic page numbers and running headers/footers.
Layers, groups, and frames
Bring elements forward or back, duplicate, delete, group/ungroup, merge to image, toggle visibility, and lock elements. Multi-select with marquee or shift-click, then align and distribute precisely.
The Inspector
Edit the selected page or element: position, size, rotation, opacity, blend mode, drop shadow, glows, and masks. Text controls cover font (all Google Fonts), size, alignment, weight, color, spacing, and line height. Shape controls cover fill, gradient, stroke, and corner radius. QR controls set the encoded link.
Brand kit
Stored per project: upload a logo, set brand colors, and choose heading and body fonts. The editor's color swatches, font picker, and the AI flyer generator all use your active brand kit so everything stays on-brand.
Creating a flyer with AI
- Choose Create with AI.
- Describe the flyer.
- Optionally add the exact text it must include (names, dates, prices — used word-for-word).
- Optionally attach up to 4 photos (your logo, products, venue) with a short note on each.
- Optionally pick the colours — your brand kit colours are pre-loaded.
- Choose the size and Generate.
The AI writes the copy and lays out a fully editable starting design using your content, photos, and palette. AI generation uses AI credits.
Template marketplace
The Marketplace lets you buy premium templates from other creators — and sell your own. On eligible Design plans you can list templates for sale, set your price, and keep 70% of every sale, with payouts to your bank or mobile money account. Contributing an approved free template can also earn you a discount.
Exporting
- Open the design and save your latest changes.
- Choose Export.
- Pick the format and quality, then confirm.
- PNG / JPG — the current page, with optional transparent background (PNG) and quality control (JPG).
- PDF — all pages at true print size, with optional bleed and crop marks; choose crisp vector output (selectable text) or exact raster.
- SVG — scalable vector of the current page.
- CMYK PDF (paid, beta) — server-converted print-ready colour for print shops.
Long exports run in the background — keep working while they finish. Your watermark, if enabled, is included automatically.
Access and limits
Design Studio requires a plan or bundle with the design entitlement. Free design access includes a daily export allowance with a Suitly watermark; paid Design plans remove the watermark and unlock premium templates, selling on the marketplace, background removal, and advanced exports. See Pricing or the Subscription screen in the app.
